Tumotolong

Since 1

Lumis, Yanak and Yagang look at home. Lumis is folded, Yagang're cleaning house. Meanwhile, a pregnant Yanak is dry cloth.

Lumis: Yanak, you should be resting. I do not want anything happening to you and you still in pregnant Yanak.

Yanak: I'm good mother. This is only light work. Furthermore, I feel boring just sit there quietly.

Lumis: Em ... well. Let Yagang do the heavily work then.

Yanak: Yes mother. Yagang can you rest for a moments. Come up here.

Yagang left work and went to the house.

Yanak: I went to the kitchen for our afternoon tea.

Lumis and Yagang chat and; suddenly they heard a noise in the kitchen.

Lumis: What is the sound of that? Lets us go into the kitchen.

Yagang: Come on .

After they stopped in the kitchen, they were very surprised because Yanak was lying on the floor. Yagang hold and look Yanak and she became unconscious. Lumis suddenly realized something was in the house. And he looked off toward the door and said something.

Lumis: I know you are in this house. You better go now.

Yanak squalid living spaces and Yagang looked very worried. Lumis while squeezing Yanak head.

Lumis: Yagang, your wife have been do by something’s spirit.

Yagang: What is a mother?

Lumis: They are not good spirit that very naughty and evil.

Yagang: So what should I do Mommy? Is There cure?

Lumis: Yes, there are but very rare. The herbs call Lintotobo. Usually this Lintotobo will bloom in the forest.

Yagang: Well then, I will go to forest tomorrow.

The next day, Yagang ready to depart into the forest to find Lintotobo.

Yagang: Mother, I will go now. Please keep Yanak safe.

Lumis: Hang on a second Yagang, I have things like give you. This is a talisman for you abstain from things that are not good.

Yagang: Thank you mother. I will keep it. I go now.

Lumis: Be careful on you ways Yagang.

Yagang take the amulet and go into the forest. Weather at the time it was very hot. Yagang looked very tired and he paused to rest. Yagang take drinks and food on hand. Without he realizing it, the amulet given her dropping out of the dropouts. After a few mint, Yagang continue his journey. Yagang suddenly uncomfortable and it seems like someone is watching. But he still continued his journey to find the medicine to cure his wife.

When Yagang is looking for he herbs he did not realize that there are things that wass watching him. The thing call Tumotolong (T).

Tumotolong 1: Wah! See a human...

Tumotolong 2: Hi ... hi ... hi ... Yes human.

Tumotolong 1: What do we do?

Tumotolong 2: We ... play ... Hi .. hi .. hi ..

Tumotolong 1: Run? ... Play ... hi ... hi ... hi

Tumotolong 2: Yes ... let us play with it. We make him lose ....

Tumotolong 1: Yes ... Hahahaha

Yagang is busy finding a cure. While Tumotolong is being followed and playing with him. Without realizing, he was lost and got into the world Tumotolong.

Since 4:

Lumis look very worried because Yagang not come back three days ago.

Lumis: Where is this Yagang. I was worries for him. It is 3 days he did not return.

Lumis step out of the house and go to the houses of the village. Lumis look, crying. At that time, Wida to the village head's wife was drying clothes and he looks Lumis.

Wida: What happen to you Lumis? Why are you crying?

Lumis: My son, Wida. He did not return home from the forest. He disappears for 3 days.

Wida: That look not good. I will call my husband first.

Wida call her husband Kuguan to meet with Lumis.

Kuguan: What happen to you Lumis. What is happening?

Lumis: Kuguan my son is lost. He entered the forest for 3 days but did not return home as well.

Kuguan: Patience Lumis, you tell me.

Lumis told him what had happened about Yanak and also why he told Yagang into the forest.

Kuguan: You do not worry Lumis, I will send someone into the woods searching for your child. You go home first.

Lumis: Ok Kuguan.

Kuguan call his people to search Yagang in the forest.

Kuguan: I have a case with you.

Person 1: What is Kuguan?

Kuguan: Lumis son was lost in the woods for 3 days and I want you to find him in the forest. Gp find your other friends.

Person 1: Well Kuguan.

People 1 to go home and tell his friends that Kuguan asked them to find Yagang in the forest. Once they arrive in the forest.

Person 1: Where has this Yagang go ... until he lost in the woods?

Person 2: Maybe he might play in the forest alone with ghost... hahahaha

Person 1: Play in a forest! Play whatever it? Crazy ... Hahahaha

They laugh very loud in the woods. Suddenly People 1 slip.

Person 1: Damn this place ... until I slipped.

Person 3: Do not talk like that ... Later Tumotolong will hear ...

Person 1: What! Tumotolong? What is the matter?

Person 3: Em ... you do not know Tumotolong? Tumotolong the keepers in this forest.

Person 1: Hahaha ... where he is ... show your self Tumotolong…Dam you... hahahaha

Person 4: You do the work quickly. Day nights like this.

While they search Yagang. They do not realize that Tumotolong is watching them.

Tumotolong 1: They laugh at us ...

Tumotolong 2: How dare they ... they are evil unggh ...

Tumotolong 1: Let's play with them ...

Tumotolong 2: I hate them ... I want them dead!

Tumotolong 1: Yes ... let us kill them ...

Tumotolong very angry with them, and kill they all.

Lumis looked very worried and take action to find her own. She went into the forest with a protective amulet. As soon as, Lumis in the forest. She was looking forward something.

Lumis: O Tumotolong keepers in this forest. Do not you disturb us all. Yagang my child return it. My request to you.

Lumis make her shirt turn over and hoping something might happen. Suddenly, Yagang appeared in front of Lumis and he is holding the herbs that he seeking.

Yagang: Mother... what mother doing here?

Lumis: I am looking for you Yagang. You have3 days disappear.

Yagang: Is that true! I disappeared for so long?

Lumis: Yes children,but thanks to god that you safe and not injured. Let us back home, and cure your wife Yagang

Yagang: Yes, mother.

They go out of the woods. While from another angle, Tumotolong are looking at them. The people who search Yagang not return for a long day. And they say that they all died.

American Families

        The American families now is different from Malaysian families because the husband in America not going to work but their wife is going out to work and the man in American called househusband. This troubling a American families because it’s not easy for they life; the man change all idea and ways because, they are different when work inside and outside house; working outside home usually everything must be hurry and time is important, working inside home the man cannot be hurry all time and make everyone unhappy. The househusband must be smart to show felling about something to children, like when the man angry and need to help or explain carefully to make the children understand easily, this are to avoid any complicated from the family. The househusband must doing the all the housework includes shopping and take cares their children. Unfortunately it was not easy things to learn and that’s way they act like other family. For the conclusion, being a househusband had to change the way he thinks about time, smart to spent time to make everyone happy.

UFS 211- TASK 3; the stages of writing process

                                                                      Writing Process
1. Prewriting
This covers everything you do before starting your rough draft. As a minimum, prewriting means coming up with an idea!
Ideas and Inspiration
Ideas are all around you. If you want to write but you don’t have any ideas, try:
• Using a writing prompt to get you started.
• Writing about incidents from your daily life, or childhood.
• Keeping a notebook of ideas – jotting down those thoughts that occur throughout the day.
• Creating a vivid character, and then writing about him/her.
Tip: Once you have an idea, you need to expand on it. Don’t make the mistake of jumping straight into your writing – you’ll end up with a badly structured piece.
Building on Your Idea
These are a couple of popular methods you can use to add flesh to the bones of your idea:
• Free writing: Open a new document or start a new page, and write everything that comes into your head about your chosen topic. Don’t stop to edit, even if you make mistakes.
• Brainstorming: Write the idea or topic in the center of your page. Jot down ideas that arise from it – sub-topics or directions you could take with the article.
Once you’ve done one or both of these, you need to select what’s going into your first draft.


Planning and Structure
Some pieces of writing will require more planning than others. Typically, longer pieces and academic papers need a lot of thought at this stage.
First, decide which ideas you’ll use. During your free writing and brainstorming, you’ll have come up with lots of thoughts. Some belong in this piece of writing: others can be kept for another time.
Then, decide how to order those ideas. Try to have a logical progression. Sometimes, your topic will make this easy, in this article, for instance, it made sense to take each step of the writing process in order.

2. Writing 
 At this stage, don’t think about word-count, grammar, spelling and punctuation. Don’t worry if you’ve gone off-topic, or if some sections of your plan don’t fit too well. Just keep writing.
Some things that many writers find helpful when working on the first draft include:
• Setting aside at least thirty minutes to concentrate: it’s hard to establish a writing flow if you’re just snatching a few minutes here and there.
• Going somewhere without interruptions: a library or coffee shop can work well, if you don’t have anywhere quiet to write at home.
• Switching off distracting programs: if you write your first draft onto a computer, you might find that turning off your Internet connection does wonders for your concentration levels.
You might write several drafts, especially if you’re working on fiction. Your subsequent drafts will probably merge elements of the writing stage and the revising stage.

3. Revising

Revising your work is about making “big picture” changes. You might remove whole sections, rewrite entire paragraphs, and add in information which you’ve realized the reader will need. Everyone needs to revise – even talented writers.
The revision stage is sometimes summed up with the A.R.R.R. (Adding, Rearranging, Removing, and Replacing) approach:
Adding
What else does the reader need to know? If you haven’t met the required word-count, what areas could you expand on? This is a good point to go back to your prewriting notes – look for ideas which you didn’t use.
Rearranging
Even when you’ve planned your piece, sections may need rearranging. Perhaps as you wrote your essay, you found that the argument would flow better if you reordered your paragraphs. Maybe you’ve written a short story that drags in the middle but packs in too much at the end.
Removing
Sometimes, one of your ideas doesn’t work out. Perhaps you’ve gone over the word count, and you need to take out a few paragraphs. Maybe that funny story doesn’t really fit with the rest of your article.
Replacing
 If you’re not sure what’s working and what isn’t, show your writing to someone else. This might be a writers’ circle, or just a friend who’s good with words. Ask them for feedback. It’s best if you can show your work to several people, so that you can get more than one opinion.

4. Editing
The editing stage is distinct from revision, and needs to be done after revising. Editing involves the close-up view of individual sentences and words. It needs to be done after you’ve made revisions on a big scale: or else you could agonize over a perfect sentence, only to end up cutting that whole paragraph from your piece.
When editing, go through your piece line by line, and make sure that each sentence, phrase and word is as strong as possible. Some things to check for are:
• Have you used the same word too many times in one sentence or paragraph? Use a thesaurus to find
        alternative.
• Are any of your sentences hard to understand? Rewrite them to make your thoughts clear.
• Which words could you cut to make a sentence stronger? Words like “just” “quite”, “very”, “really”
         and “generally” can often be removed.
• Are your sentences grammatically correct? Keep a careful look out for problems like subject-verb agreement and staying consistent in your use of the past, present or future tense.
• Is everything spelt correctly? Don’t trust your spell-checker – it won’t pick up every mistake. Proofread as many times as necessary.
• Have you used punctuation marks correctly? Commas often cause difficulties. You might want to check out the Daily Writing Tips articles on punctuation.

5. Publishing
The final step of the writing process is publishing. This means different things depending on the piece you’re working on.
Bloggers need to upload, format and post their piece of completed work.
Students need to produce a final copy of their work, in the correct format. This often means adding a bibliography, ensuring that citations are correct, and adding details such as your student reference number.
Journalists need to submit their piece to an editor. Again, there will be a certain format for this.
Fiction writers may be sending their story to a magazine or competition. Check guidelines carefully, and make sure you follow them. If you’ve written a novel, look for an agent who represents your genre. (There are books like Writer’s Market, published each year, which can help you with this.

The topic sentence

In most cases, the first sentence of a paragraph is the topic sentence. The topic sentence tells you what the paragraph will be about. From a good topic sentence, you should be able to predict the content of the paragraph.

The topic sentence states the main idea of the paragraph. It not only names the topic of the paragraph, but it also limits the topic to one specific area that can be discussed completely in the space of a single paragraph. The part of the topic sentence that announces the specific area to be discussed is called the controlling idea. Notice how the topic sentence of the model states both the topic and the controlling idea:

Gold, a precious metal, is prized for two important characteristics.   

The support sentences
The topic sentence is followed by the support sentences. Support sentences expand on the topic sentence. The material in the support sentences should be presented in a systematic way. Order of importance, chronological order, order of operations or space order is most frequently used.
That is, they explain or prove the topic sentence by giving more information about it. Following are some of the supporting sentences that explain the topic sentence about gold.

• Gold has a lustrous beauty that is resistant to corrosion.
• A Macedonian coin remains as untarnished today as the day it was made 25 centuries ago.
• Another characteristic of gold is its usefulness to industry and science.
• The most recent use of gold is in astronauts' suits.

The concluding sentence

The concluding sentence summarizes the main point of the paragraph. It often re-states the idea in the topic sentence using different words. Not all paragraphs have a concluding sentence.
The concluding sentence signals the end of the paragraph and leaves the reader with important points to remember:

In conclusion, gold is treasured not only for its beauty but also for its utility.

Checklist for Writing a Paragraph
Steps 1 - Write the topic sentence
The best starting point for a paragraph is a topic sentence. If you are writing the paragraph in response to a specific question, this should not be a difficult task because the wording of the question will assist you.


Step 2 - Brainstorm
Once you have written the topic sentence, you need to think of ideas to support it. Try brainstorming. Jot down anything that relates to your topic sentence: facts, details or examples. This might only take a few minutes, but it is an important part of the writing process.


Step 3 - Plan
Brainstorming will probably provide you with more ideas than you require. Read over what you have written, and cross out those ideas which do not obviously relate to the topic sentence. Arrange the remaining ideas in the order you wish to present them in your paragraph.


Step 4 - Write the first draft
The first draft should include all the ideas in your plan. It is a good idea to use every second line if you are writing the first draft on paper. This makes revision and editing much easier. Once you have finished writing the first draft, think about what you have written. You might consider a concluding sentence. Write one if you think it is necessary to complete the paragraph.


Step 5 - Revise and edit
Revising and editing your paragraph means rethinking and rewriting. It may involve making additions or corrections, rewriting sentences or rearranging details. Ask yourself the following questions
1. Is the topic sentence clear and relevant?
2. Do the facts, details and examples explain/develop the topic sentence?
3. Is there enough support?
4. Is the material presented in a systematic way?
5. Does one sentence lead smoothly to the next?

Step 7 - Write the final draft

Step 8 - Proofread your paragraph
Proofreading is whereas revision focuses on improving the content of the essay, proofreading deals with recognizing and correcting errors or punctuation, capitalization, spelling, and grammar.
The technique to revise and proofread you essay is;
• Set your essay aside for awhile if you have time. Come back to it later. You will notice ways to make your essay better, and you'll see more errors to correct.
• Read the essay aloud to yourself. Often you can hear errors that you may not catch while reading silently.
• Have an adult or peer read your essay and gives you suggestions about confusing parts.

             The water is very important for human life but suddenly some people not realize about that and they are throwing rubbish everywhere without regard to pollution, especially water pollution. When the wind blows trash will fly into the river, sea, and the drain and this will cause the water around us is polluted and makes a disease to people.Sometimes waste oil from the factory in the discharge into the water also causes pollution to the animals that live in water. Finally, when this condition persists then, every living thing on this earth will die before this time because the earth is filled by the waste.  This all is due to irresponsible human behavior. Because of that many government agencies now make an affirmation and a fine to people who throw trash everywhere and hygiene campaigns are also many who had been carried out to alert people to the importance of water every living thing on this earth.

The food that I really like to eat is a tradition food such as kangkong, cabbage and others that cook in tradition food. I like to eat these tradition foods because this can make me a healthy without jogging every day, this tradition food not has a high carbohydrate and fat. Many of food like kfc and canned food are not very well give a health to our body for example the kfc are sold only chicken and this added a fat and cholesterol to our body, for the canned food is not very well good because this food has a high carbohydrate that not good for our body. When I’m eat the tradition food I have a healthy diet because of that I’m very like.

UFS 211-TASK 6: What are the common mistakes that you always do in writing? Do you find writing in English is difficult? What kind of problem do you face when you start writing? What are your suggestions to overcome the problem? Discuss.

       The common mistakes that I’m always doing in writing are about the sentences and I don’t have an idea to write a essay. I cannot explain the more profound for my essay and I’m also not fluent in English and this made me difficult to explain in more when I’m writing essays. Sometimes when I have a good idea to write essay I can make this easy but many of my sentence is wrong, my grammar is false in my word.
      So, this make me weaken to continue writing, when I try in hardest to follow all the instruction to writing a essay, I will do but not better than other people. All of this are because I’m weaken in this subject and I’m also always forgot about the correct sentences and the stage to writing, and also the grammar.
     For do the best in writing process I have to read a book in English language for me understand how people do writing in correct sentence without any wrong and how they use language correctly in their writing, in this way a little I can learn how to write an essay properly.

        That day, in Sunday morning I’m late to woke up because that night my mother force me to study until midnight to me pass my exam soon in years three at the school, when I woke up I’m looking around to found my mother but I’m not saw her, so, I’m going around the house for looking her but I’m still not found her and that time I realized that I’m alone at the home. I’m feeling scared when alone at the house, so, I’m going to my cousin’s house.

        At my cousin’s house, I saw that she was play a game alone and she not realized that I’m in her back, so, I called her and she looked at me and asked me, ‘’since when you here?’’, I’m not answer her question but I’m asked her about my mother and she really don’t know where my mother, so, that time I feel sad and ran going to the door and she asked me where I want to go, then I told him that I went to found my mother at the hill, because everyday my mother going to the hill for feeding her nourish animal.

        A few minutes later on, I went out from the door and she told me, he want to followed me to going in the hill because she like to looked and feeding my mother nourish animal’s and when we walking at the roadway we do a deal that that who reach first at the hill, so, we ran together. We we’re always do a deal when went in the hill, both of us not cared about the stone’s on the roadway and about our safety.

        At the middle of the road, we pushed in other to reach first in the hill, suddenly, she pushed me so strong without accidently and I’m fall down. My head hit by sharp stone, I’m shocked and quiet for a while and the lot of blood out from my head, I’m crying when I saw the blood and I feel scared to dying. My cousin shocked too when saw the blood at my head and went to crying, she thinks that time I was dying too.

        Suddenly, she quiet for a while and think that time can’t to be panic and she told me for wait because she went to going found someone to help, I’m waiting her comeback and that time I feel very hurt. A few minutes later, my auntie come and she shocked when saw me and without waste a time she takes me to her house for washed the blood in my head and that time I felt like I wanted to faint out.

        My mother very shocked when she saw me and sends me at the hospital. When I woke up I looked surrounds and all is white and thinks that I was dying but my mother come in and asked about my condition that well or not and I said well. I’m very thankful because I’m saved from the tragedy and don’t want to ran in the roadway again.

What is Love to You

        

         In my opinion, Love is coming from the heart. Love always exists in each individual. Love is so great when we appreciate it well because this love is not only divided into one, but it is divided into several parts, for example, feelings love for friends, family, parents, animals, lover, themselves and also love to the god’s.

        Each people will have this love for their friends and the friends of course also love us too. The feelings will arise by itself when we already know the person well, such as, we always share the problem; the problems that happens they will together solve it, and help each other; in financial or specific problems in its natural, they also will share happiness and sorrows respectively.

         Since we are small, feelings that exist in our heart to the family, especially to both of parents and after that we start caring for other siblings. Example of love that exists in the family are respect and appreciate both of parents and other siblings, in addition, we also will comply with all instructions or prohibitions and the advice given by parents cannot raise to those who enlargement us with weariness.

        In daily life, obviously people have feelings love for plants. Often, young girls love flowers because flowers is beautiful to look at and they will plant the flowers are at home, and some people also cherish the natural environment  such as sea, rain, sun, forest, aquatics, and all the green trees. This is because of the nature will make him quiet, comfortable and happy to be able to see this natural beauty.
